Prof. Dr. Jurij Toplak

Director of Alma Mater Vienna

Jurij Toplak is the Head of Alma Mater Europaea University, Vienna Campus, Director of Alma Mater Vienna, and a law professor. As a constitutional scholar and election law expert he spoke at universities worldwide including at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cambridge, Oxford, UCLA, and Washington & Lee. The New York Times, Washington Post, Guardian, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times & Boston Globe published his legal views.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anja Hellmuth Kramberger

Head of Accreditation & Research 

Anja Hellmuth Kramberger is an Associate Professor at AMEU who (co)authored five books and 60+ articles and book chapters, and is a member of EU-funded project Managing AI in Archeology (MAIA). A Berlin-born internationally recognized researcher in archaeological science and humanities. At AMEU Vienna, she coordinates research and supports academic planning and accreditation processes.

Dr. Maximilian-Niklas Bonk

Academic Dean of Physiotherapy in Austria

Maximilian-Niklas Bonk is a board-certified neurosurgeon with a passion for integrating robotics, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality into neurosurgery. As the founding academic dean, he combines his expertise in complex spine surgery and brain tumor treatments with innovative
technologies to advance patient care and medical education.

Leonie Walter, MSc

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Leonie Walter is a German physiotherapist and researcher with an MSc in Health and Physical Activity from the University of Rome “Foro Italico”, specialising in self-regulation strategies and injury prevention. With international experience as a research assistant at the University of Queensland, she combines academic expertise with practical insights to promote healthy, active lifestyles.

Dr. Milos Kotlar

Coordinator of PhD Applied AI in Austria

Milos Kotlar is an Assistant Professor and a Software Engineer at Microsoft. He holds a PhD in computer science, with research focus on machine learning, anomaly detection, and knowledge graphs. He previously worked at ABB and TraceLabs on EU-funded research projects. He has published multiple scientific papers and co-edited books with Springer and IGI Global.

Anja Antic Vujovic, MSc

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Anja Antic Vujovic has practiced physiotherapy since 2009 and runs her own clinic in Vienna since 2021. Trained in Belgrade and nostrified at FH Campus Wien, her expertise covers orthopedics, posture and foot pathologies, spiral dynamics and pediatric neurology. She continually advances her skills through workshops and conferences. In 2012 she earned a BSc and MA in special education and rehabilitation, and has organized three international disability-and-media conferences.

Dr. PhDr. Christian Helfenschneider MSc, M.Ed. MEd.

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Christian Helfenschneider holds doctorates in Pedagogy from the Interuniversity College Graz/Seggau and in Health Sciences & Public Health from San Elisabeth University Bratislava/Vienna. He earned a Master in Management, Adult and Nursing Education and is a Bachelor alumnus of the Alma Mater in Health and Nursing Science. He is an Instructor of the European Resuscitation Council.

Dr. Nida Nasir

Assistant Professor of PhD Applied AI in Austria

Nida Nasir’s research explores neuromorphic sensing, machine learning, and intelligent systems applied to healthcare, smart environments, and sustainable computing. With extensive experience across Europe and the Gulf, she integrates academic research with real-world innovation to design energy-efficient, intelligent solutions. Her teaching and mentoring emphasize creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

Dr. Mounir Ould Setti

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Mounir Ould Setti is a physician and epidemiologist trained in public health and quantitative methods (MD, MPH, DSc). His research has focused on population health, cardio-renal epidemiology, renal disease, and pharmacoepidemiology. He currently applies his expertise as an epidemiologist at IQVIA in Finland, leveraging advanced statistical techniques and R programming to inform large-scale healthcare studies.

Dr. Anna-Vanadis Faix

Assistant Professor in Project Management

Anna-Vanadis Faix studied Philosophy and Economics at the universities of Cambridge, Tübingen, and Padova, and earned her PhD in Philosophy from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. At AMEU, she contributes to academic development, supports innovative teaching and research initiatives, and strengthens international collaboration.

Darko Milascevic, PhD

Coordinator of PhD in Physiotherapy in Austria

Darko Milascevic is a Master Physiotherapist with a PhD in Neuroscience based in Paris, France. He has extensive experience as a Senior Lecturer and as a Research Physiotherapist. His professional and research interests focus on pediatric physiotherapy and adapted physical activity for children and young adults with developmental and neuromuscular pediatric disabilities.

Roman Jahoda

Expert-in-Residence in Physiotherapy

Roman Jahoda is a physiotherapist, sports physiotherapist and fitness coach with more than 20 years of experience in professional sports (Judo, Formula1, Football, Volleyball, Gymnastics…). He is teaching at several universities and institutions worldwide, published books about “Active Training and Therapy” and provides the modern active approach in physiotherapy.

Martina Marschal, MSc

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Martina Marschal is a physiotherapist with a Master’s degree in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Salzburg. Her specialty is the health benefits of exercise, especially how to use walking as exercise. She worked in development cooperation in Africa for 2 years before setting up her own physiotherapy business in Austria in 2015.

Uroš Marušič, PhD

University Professor

Dr. Uroš Marušič is a Full Professor with over fourteen years of experience in neuroscience, human movement science, and translational research. His interdisciplinary work focuses on neuroplasticity, sensorimotor function, neurorehabilitation, and the use of mobile brain neuroimaging and artificial intelligence to investigate brain–body interactions in real-world contexts.

Regina DeGeorge, DPT

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Regina DeGeorge is a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the United States where she completed her Bachelors and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She specializes in sports orthopedics, currently works in men’s football in Germany, and values bringing this experience into her educational methodology.

Dr. Pawel Kiper

Associate Professor of Physiotherapy

Pawel Kiper is an associate professor at AMEU with a PhD in Health Sciences, specializing in neurorehabilitation. He leads the Research Line on Innovative Technologies and Methods in Neurorehabilitation and the Laboratory of Healthcare Innovation Technologies at IRCCS San Camillo Hospital in Venice, Italy. His work focuses on the development and application of advanced technological approaches.

Dr. Natasa Standeker

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Natasa Standeker is a registered nurse with extensive experience in elderly care in Slovenia and Austria. She holds a master’s degree in Health and Social Management and a PhD in Social Gerontology. At Alma Mater Europaea, she teaches subjects in social gerontology, mental health, nursing care for older adults, and palliative care, with a focus on professional development and quality of care.

Dr. Sedin Bajric

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Dr. Bajric Sedin runs a private orthopaedics and traumatology practice in Vienna and has lectured in Mistelbach since 2016. A Graz medical graduate, he holds diplomas in Pain Management, Manual Medicine and Emergency Medicine and published his research on IL-6 as a biomarker for postoperative SIRS.

Elvira Deim, BSc

Teaching Assistant in Physiotherapy

Elvira Deim trained in physiotherapy at FH Campus Wien and has since worked in Austria and Germany with a special focus on pain therapy, TMJ treatment, and sports physiotherapy. She’s presented on fascial therapy at a Vienna health congress and co-produced a series of prevention and wellness videos. Known for her empathy and sense of humor, she’s passionate about teaching precise, effective physiotherapy techniques.

Torsten Blass, BSc

Teaching Assistant in Biochemistry

Torsten Blass is a biochemist with a Diplom degree from the University of Leipzig. He gained research experience in genomics and proteomics at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, where he also developed expertise in programming, statistics, and data analysis. In the private sector, he worked in market research and consulting within the medical technology industry.

Sonja Hribar-Marko, MSc

University Lecturer of Physiotherapy

Sonja Hribar-Marko has been working as a self-employed physiotherapist for 25 years. She completed her master’s degree in Complementary Health Sciences at the Interuniversity College in Graz. As a co-instructor of Functional Myodiagnostics, she has already introduced this specialty to many physiotherapists during their continuing education. A holistic approach to the patient is especially important to her.

Dr. Mohini Agarwal

Assistant Professor of PhD Applied AI in Austria

Mohini Agarwal holds a PhD in Operational Research and specializes in machine learning, explainable AI, and data-driven modeling. Her research focuses on developing transparent and ethical AI applications in finance and healthcare. She is committed to mentoring students and advancing responsible, interpretable AI systems for real-world impact.

Álvaro Nebreda, MEd

Álvaro Nebreda is a Spanish engineer and educator fluent in Spanish, English, German, and French. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Education, with specialty in STEM. His past roles as TU Graz Student Assistant and Educational Content Creator has allowed him to further refine his teaching methods and contribute to a dynamic learning environment.

Dr. Luisa Cacciante

Assistant Professor

Dr. Luisa Cacciante is a speech-language therapist and postdoctoral researcher. She is an expert in neurorehabilitation and methodological research, with a focus on virtual reality and telerehabilitation for aphasia recovery. Her experience includes clinical trial and systematic review design, investigation of the relationship between motor and language functions, gesture-based treatments, and aphasia prognosis.
